East, No. 21 Ford Review: Loudon
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Bobby East started third last Saturday at the New Hampshire 200 in his State Fair Corn Dogs/Edy's Dibs Ford F-150 at the New Hampshire International Speedway. He finished 30th.

Bobby East on New Hampshire: "This is very disappointing. We had a great qualifying effort, and we were making adjustments during the race to make it better when we got caught up in somebody else's wreck. A couple guys got together ahead of me and started spinning. I thought I had it cleared, then another truck came across and hit me. We've had good trucks, but we keep having bad luck. It's very frustrating."

Bobby East on the season: "Our truck was really torn up during the crash. It ripped away the entire control arm on the right-front, but the guys on this Wood Brothers/JTG Racing team wouldn't quit. They went to work on it and put it back together, and that gives you a lot of motivation as a driver to come back out and do the best you can do. That's the thing about this race team:
It doesn't quit. We gained four spots by going back out. It's no fun to ride around and log laps when your truck is torn up, but we had something to show for it."

Crew Chief John Monsam on New Hampshire: "Unfortunately our luck has been running like this. You have to balance your speed for qualifying with your speed for the race. We were trying to adjust some of the qualifying stuff out of it during the race like we planned when we got involved in somebody else's mess. It's hard to keep your head up after something like this, but we'll get back to the shop and get ready for Las Vegas. We've got seven hours of practice there on Friday and we're going to throw a lot of ideas on our Ford F-150. We're all looking forward to that."

Bobby East's 2006 Season Highlights

  • Best Starting Position: Third (Michigan and New Hampshire)
  • Best Finishing Position: 11th (O'Reilly Raceway Park)
  • Most Money Won: $13,840 (Dover)
