New Cloverleaf at Superspeedway Tunnel Starting to Take Shape

Construction crews using earth-moving equipment spent a major portion of the past week grading out the new cloverleaf that will make for easier access in and out of Las Vegas Motor Speedway's infield.

The new road design will give vehicles leaving the infield and needing to go behind the backstretch and a route that will take them over the tunnel and prevent those vehicles from having to turn across traffic.

The new entry and exit interchange is expected to be completed in time for the Sept. 23 Smith's Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event.

In other construction news this past week:

• Construction continued on the inside of the new garage building that will be home to the NASCAR Busch Series teams next year as well as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams in two weeks.
• Crews continued pouring the walls for the new Neon Garage. Once all walls are poured, a crane will lift the walls in to place.
• Framework for the new media center continues to be erected.
  NASCAR's scoring loops were installed into the racing surface.
