Talladega Superspeedway has released the tentative schedule of events for its upcoming race weekend, the Oct- 6- 8 UAW-Ford 500 Event Weekend featuring 1,000 miles of racing in three days. A detailed schedule of events for the 2006 UAW-Ford 500 Event Weekend follows.

Talladega Superspeedway continues its 3-day weekends for fans with grandstands opening for the first time of the weekend at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6. On-track activity that day begins with ARCA RE/MAX Series final practice from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by Alabama Beef Producers Qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at 11:15 a.m. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams will hold its only practice sessions of the weekend, with the first scheduled from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. and another from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Then, driver introductions for the ARCA REMAX Series will begin at 4:15 p.m., immediately followed by the start of the Food World 250 ARCA RE/MAX Series race. Tickets for Friday's events are $20.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, and Discount Food Mart Qualifying for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series will begin at 11:10 a.m. Shortly after the field is set for Sunday's UAW-Ford 500, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers will be introduced to the crowd at 1:45 p.m., which will lead into the inaugural Talladega 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at 2:15 p.m. Tickets for Saturday's events start at $40 for single-day admissions, while Allison Grandstand tickets good for both Saturday and Sunday are only $60.

When gates open at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, fans will begin filling their seats in anticipation of the UAW-Ford 500, race four in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. Drivers will be introduced at 1 p.m., followed by the race at 1:30 p.m. Single-day grandstand tickets for Sunday start at $70, while two-day tickets for Saturday and Sunday events range from $60 to $160.

Kids age 11 and younger are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a ticketed adult on Friday and Saturday. Tickets to all of these events are available by logging onto www.talladegasuperspeedway.com.
