Miller to Make His Nascar Busch Series Debut at Memphis

Joey Miller is scheduled to make his NASCAR Busch Series debut in the No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine fielded by Michael Waltrip Racing at Memphis Motorsports Park this October.

"Joey (Miller) is a great young man and he has been a joy to work with," Darrell Waltrip stated. "I'm happy that he is going to drive my brother's car at the Busch Series race in Memphis. I told Michael that since I finally got to drive the No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine, and David (Reutimann) gets to run it full-time next year, it would be appropriate to have Joey race it. I want to support anything Joey may do in the future."

The 21-year-old is also competing in the No. 12 Curb Records Toyota Tundra at Bristol Motor Speedway this month, but his team will not participate in the remaining NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events due to lack of sponsorship.

"Without the proper funding, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue running the #12 Truck team," Waltrip said. "Joey will run one more race for us and that's at Bristol. Curb Records gave us an opportunity to get to this point. They did everything they said they would, and we hope to be able work with them in the future. We had hoped to be able to secure additional partners during the season, but it hasn't worked out that way. We have to be smart about our investment and the big picture, which includes David Reutimann running for a championship."

Even though Miller will not be competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, running the Aaron's Dream Machine opens another window of opportunity to showcase his talent.

"We are parting ways, but I'm happy because they are letting me run my first Busch race," Miller said. "That's really cool. I'm glad it's going to happen at a short track like Memphis. Some of my best finishes are at short tracks. They have also lined me up for the truck race at Bristol."
