The Lyn St. James Foundation will hold its fourth annual "Women in the Winner's Circle" luncheon tomorrow, August 3rd, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The event will honor the achievements of women in the motorsports industry and discuss ways to expand the opportunities available. The luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Plaza Village Pavilion.

"The 'Women in the Winner's Circle' luncheons have proved to be a great success in their first three years," said Lyn St. James, founder of the Lyn St. James Foundation. "Bringing together the top female drivers and technical experts in motorsports has helped in discussing the opportunities currently available to women in the industry. It is our goal to continue to expand these opportunities and encourage more women to experience the thrill of motorsports."

The event will be hosted by St. James and basketball legend Nancy Lieberman. Anne Stevens, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Ford Motor Company, will serve as the featured speaker. In addition, the program will feature over 30 professional female drivers such as Erin Crocker, Allison Duncan and Sarah Fisher. Several industry and community leaders will serve as honorary co-chairs for the luncheon, including NASCAR President Mike Helton and Indianapolis Motor Speedway President and Chief Operating Officer Joie Chitwood. During the luncheon, awards will be presented to drivers, racing teams and an industry pioneer.

"NASCAR is proud to support the efforts of Lyn St. James to help women succeed in our industry," said Tish Sheets, NASCAR director of diversity. "There are many talented women currently involved in NASCAR both on the track, as drivers, crew members and engineers, and off the track, in various professional fields. We look forward to more women joining NASCAR in various capacities."

Lyn St. James was the first female driver to be named Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year and was named one of the Top 100 Women Athletes of the Century by Sports Illustrated for Women. She started the Lyn St. James Foundation and Driver Development Program to provide leadership, vision, resources, and financial support in order to create an open environment for women's growth in automotive fields. St. James is a member of the NASCAR Diversity Council, Vice Chair of the Indiana Governor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sport and serves on the board of Kettering University in Flint, Mich.
