East, No. 21 Ford Review: Memphis
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Bobby East started 17th last Saturday in the Built Ford Tough 225 in his State Fair Corn Dogs/Edy's Dibs Ford F-150 at the Memphis Motorsports Park. He finished 21st.

East's next race will be the Power Stroke Diesel 200 Presented by Ford an International at the O'Reilly Raceway Park on Aug. 4.

Bobby East on Memphis: "We had a good truck but we didn't have track position most of the night. Memphis is a funny track. You have to approach it like a short track because it's three-quarters of a mile. But it's fast like a bigger speedway. We learned a lot about our Ford F-150 and we'll be a lot better as a team for the experience. That's what being a rookie is all about."

Bobby East on Memphis: "We keep getting better every week. We're not only on target, we're ahead of schedule. That's not to say we're satisfied with anything other than winning, but it's a process. We're laying a good foundation for the future. When we come back to these tracks for the second time, we're going to be one of the trucks to beat."

Crew Chief John Monsam on Memphis: "Our biggest challenge is to stockpile information for the future. As good as this team has been, it's easy to forget that not only is Bobby a rookie, but this is a first-year team. We're all learning together.
We've got a real good feel for our truck and I've got a good feel for what Bobby needs in his truck. We built on that at Memphis, so no matter the outcome, it was a success."

Bobby East's 2006 Season Highlights

  • Best Starting Position: Third (Michigan)
  • Best Finishing Position: 13th (Martinsville and Gateway)
  • Most Money Won: $13,840 (Dover)
