Bobby East started 13th last Saturday in the Built Ford Tough 225 in his State Fair Corn Dogs/Edy's Dibs Ford F-150 at the Kentucky Speedway. He finished 34th.
Bobby East on Kentucky: "We had a great truck and I made a rookie mistake. It's all part of the learning process, I guess. It's one of those things that remind you you're in your first year of driving trucks in NASCAR. I can't say enough about how hard everyone on this race team worked to get the truck ready. I was a little too eager with it. I'll be better in the long run from it."
Bobby East on the season: "You have to keep reminding yourself that you're a rookie and this is a first-year team. We've come so far in a short amount of time; it's easy to expect big things. We can still be focused on being competitive, but we have to keep doing it one step at a time. Sometimes that means taking a step backward like we did at Kentucky. As long as we learn from it, it's actually a step in the right direction."
Crew Chief John Monsam on Kentucky: "Sometimes there really is a little pain with growing pains. We had a really good truck for the race and Bobby got in a bad spot. It looked like the truck on the outside took the air off of his truck and that turned him around. I know Bobby learned a big lesson from that and it will help him down the road."
