One of the hottest teams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rolled into Sparta, Kentucky for the Built Ford Tough 225 looking to continue their Jeffersonian climb through the Truck Series standings. Kentucky is known for great racing whether it's horses or race cars. If you want to win in Kentucky you need a fine bloodline to run up front. Earlier this year the Circle Bar Truck Corral stable birthed a new foal, CB-19. From her first steps CB-19 showed the potential of a champion over the last few weeks she's proved it.

Out of the shoot, CB-19 was fast, putting the Circle Bar team at the top of the practice charts. Locked into the field because of the teams standings in the owners points Crew chief Kevin "Cowboy" Starland concentrated on race setup and not qualifying. While the team did not spend a lot of time on a qualifying setup, starting 23rd was a disappointment. The race team knew when the money was on the line CB-19 would find its way to the front. Out of the gate, driver Rick Crawford pulled the reigns tight on CB-19 and she didn't respond like she usually does. Suspecting that something wasn't right with his truck Cowboy called the Ford F-150 to pit road for 4 fresh tires and fuel on lap 28. Back under green it would take a few laps for the Circle Bar pony to reach full gallop but once she got going she was as fast as the flying monkey from Kansas.

Under caution on lap 57 Crawford wheeled his F-150 down pit road again, this time for fuel only gaining valuable track position and putting the team in the top 5. Now at the front, the thoroughbred could smell the leader and she picked up the pace moving up to 2nd. Knowing he only needed 1 can of gas to make it to the end Cowboy called for the team to make its final stop under green and only take 2 tires. In the closing laps Crawford and Brendan Gaughan waged a spirited side-by-side battle for 2nd with Crawford coming out on top. Once clear of Gaughan there wasn't enough time to catch the leader and the team took home it's second, second place finish in the last two weeks. The team's runner up finish would earn Crew chief Kevin "Cowboy" Starland the Wypall Wipers Crew Chief of the race award.

Circle Bar Math, 2 (Finish in Kansas) +2 (Finish in Kentucky) + 2 more owners points, would equal 4th place in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Standings.

Crew chief Kevin "Cowboy" Starland: "The guys are doing an awesome job, last week they won the Checkers Drive Thru Challenge Award and this week they made it happen when it counted. We've got a hot hand right now and we aren't letting up. We're testing our Memphis truck this week just to make sure we got her put back together like we need her to be".

Driver Rick Crawford: "We had a great truck this weekend and once again Cowboy made some bold moves in the pits to get us a second place finish. I used to think about coming back here to Kentucky and what happened here last season a lot. But once we got here, I never once thought about it while I was out on the track. We had a great race with my good friend Brendan Gaughan late in the race, and were able to get second again. If I could have cleared Brendan sooner I think we might have had something for Hornaday. We're close to a win; all we need is one more spot. I'm a big Elvis fan, maybe we can pick the Elvis trophy up next week in Memphis."
