After two days of challenges, Kraig Kinser and his Randy Goss-led No. 46 CENTRIX Auto Finance team were looking forward to the start of the 150-lap race at Kentucky Speedway and to posting a solid finish.

However, the pre-race optimism was dashed before the first lap was completed by the Raybestos Rookie driver. A multi-truck incident in turn two damaged the No. 46 Silverado beyond the crew's ability to make the necessary repairs to safely return to racing action.

When Kinser took to the track for practice session one on Friday afternoon, it was his first-ever look at the Kentucky Speedway. By the end of final practice Friday evening, the young driver and the crew felt like they had arrived at a neutral setup that would allow Kinser to easily get qualified in the field and leave adjustability in the truck for the race.

Kinser was one of the last trucks in the qualifying order that set the field for the race. His first lap solidly put him in the field but Kinser was determined to give his team a good starting spot for the race and pushed it hard on his second lap. Coming through turn four for the checkered, the No. 46 Silverado bobbled and made contact with the wall on the right side.

The crew immediately went to work making repairs to get Kinser race ready. Per NASCAR rules, he dropped to the rear of the field following the pace laps for the start of the race.

As the field thundered through turns one and two at the drop of the green flag, Kinser and the trucks in the final two rows of the 36-truck starting field were trying to settle in to running positions. Coming out of turn two, Kinser and two other competitors made contact ending the evening for Kinser.

"I just lost the back end coming through two and it came around on me," said Kinser. "I feel terrible for Randy Goss (crew chief) and everybody on our No. 46 Morgan Dollar team. They all have worked so hard this year for me."
