Late Race Incident Spoils Solid Run for Setzer at Kentucky

With just 22 laps remaining, Dennis Setzer and the No. 85 E85 FlexFuel Silverado team were on their way to a solid run Saturday night at Kentucky Speedway. But, with racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) being rough and tough, their gritty effort was foiled when contact with another competitor sent the No. 85 sliding down the track in turn two on lap 129 of the 150-lap race.

Fortunately there was minimal damage to Setzer's Silverado and the crew was able to make quick repairs and return him to the track one lap down from the race leader.

After qualifying a disappointing 29th, Setzer and his Eric Phillips-led crew started the race knowing patience was going to be key in making their way to the front of the field. Several early race cautions were a huge advantage to the team in making the adjustments needed to keep the Newton, NC native moving toward the front of the field.

Setzer had worked his way in to the top-five in the running order when a series of green-flag pit stops shuffled the order. An ill-timed caution came out, catching Setzer and several other trucks out of sequence putting them at the tail end of the lead lap.

On the lap 127 restart, Setzer was battling his way through the field using the outside groove to his advantage before the contact occurred. When the race restarted on lap 137, Setzer was running 26th but kept digging and brought home 20th in the final finishing order.
