Allgaiers Double Duty Day Ends Early in Kansas
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

This past weekend at the Kansas Speedway, Justin Allgaier competed in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA RE/MAX Series events attempting to run 450.5 miles in one day.

Allgaier had a successful run in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 where he qualified in the 29th position and finished 21st in the No. 63 Dave Porter Truck Sales Ford.

"We had a great run in the truck," Justin Allgaier said. "Mike (Mittler) and the guys put together a fast truck for me - and we were able to use our stops to fine tune some minor adjustments. I got into the marbles at one point and got turned around but we were able to get back on it and bring home a decent finish. I am looking forward to racing the truck in Kentucky as well. I've had a lot of success at that track in the ARCA RE/MAX car so hopefully it will continue to the No. 63 Craftsman Truck."

Allgaier qualified his No. 16 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the nineth position on the starting grid for the running of the Kansas Lottery $200 Grand ARCA RE/MAX event. Unfortunately, his bid to run the entire 450.5 miles was cut short when Allgaier was involved in an incident on lap four.

"I lost down force on the car, slid up and hit the No. 32 car spinning us both," Allgaier said. "I was trying to recover from the spin when another car got into the front quarter panel ending the day. I'm disappointed for everyone involved. It's an unfortunate incident and a really bad point's day. We have some really heavy damage on the car which I hate for these guys, but we'll be back in Kentucky to try and improve our luck."
