Bobby East on Kansas: "We had a fantastic truck and John (Monsam, crew chief) had a great strategy for the race. We had a set of tires that weren't balanced and that threw us off. It's a shame. Although we still finished on the lead lap, we're a better team than this. I feel I'm a better driver and I know John and everyone else on this State Fair Corn Dogs/Edy's Dibs team is better. The only thing we were missing at Kansas as a little racing luck."
Bobby East on the season: "This was supposed to be a year to learn, but we expect a lot more. The job they do back at the Wood Brothers/JTG Racing shop is so incredible. We show up every week with a good truck, and that allows us to concentrate on good finishes. We're good enough to run on the lead lap even when we have a problem. That's a big step. To run in the Top 10, you need everything to go right - even the things out of your control."
Crew Chief John Monsam Quote
On Kansas: "The little things usually are the difference between finishing on the lead lap and running in the Top 10. In our case it was a couple of wheel weights about the size of a gumball. The rear tires on one of our sets of tires were out of balance by a little more than an ounce and that created a vibration. We took that set off during the race because we thought we had a loose wheel then we put that set back on at the end of the race. Something like that is unfortunate, especially since it was out of our hands. If we have the same kind of preparation and we get the same kind of job out of Bobby, we're going to run up front and contend to win."
