Australian Marcos Ambrose got a late start on the season joining the tour at Martinsville Speedway for the year's fourth event. The two-time V8 SuperCar champion by his admission is making steady progress toward the goal of becoming competitive with his new, NASCAR counterparts.
Ambrose qualified ninth for his third start among the top 10. His finish of 18th was a career best.
"I'm feeling a little more comfortable. We ran much better than where we finished, which is a shame," said Ambrose. "We're starting to run close to the front so the intensity is picking up."
