Kraig Kinser "Halfway" Happy With Michigan Finish
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Kraig Kinser brought the No. 46 U.S. Army Silverado to the checkered flag in 22nd place in the Con-Way Freight 200 at Michigan International Speedway. But the Raybestos Rookie was only "halfway" happy with is lead lap finish.

Starting in the 19th position, Kinser dropped back in the order as he settled in to the race and began to work on developing a solid rhythm. As the race approached the halfway point, Kinser was racing hard. Coupled with great work on pit road by his Randy Goss (crew chief) led crew, the effort began to pay off for the Bloomington, IN native as he worked his way in to the top-10 then in to the top-15.

"Actually, we had a good truck," said Kinser. "We just made some bad decisions the last couple restarts - kept going back, back. I kept getting blocked behind cars. But we had a good truck today, we probably had a top-15 truck and we finished 22nd. It's better than we've had here the last couple weeks so we can walk out of here halfway happy."

Next on the schedule for Kinser and his Morgan-Dollar Motorsports fielded Silverado is the Toyota Tundra Milwaukee 200 on Friday, June 23, 2006. Practice will begin at 11:00 a.m. CDT on Friday with qualifying set for 5:30 p.m. The race will begin at 8:15 p.m. CDT and will be broadcast live on SPEED TV. Both MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio will provide live coverage over the airwaves.
