Rising Star Eager To Get Back Behind The Wheel

Fourth generation racer Chad Blount is actively seeking a ride in one of the top three series in NASCAR. The 26 year old "Rising Star" is available immediately for opportunities that will allow him to showcase his talents behind the wheel. Blount, who has some impressive stats, was left without a ride at the end of the 2005 season. He has competed on a limited basis in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series running one event this season.

"I am really eager to get back behind the wheel," said Blount.  "I know I have the potential and the determination to make a team a great driver. I have had a lot of success in the past and I am looking to continue that success in the future. Racing is all about opportunities and right now that is what I'm looking for."

Blount burst onto the stock car racing scene in 2002 in the ARCA RE/MAX Series recording four wins, five poles and setting two new track records at Atlanta and Chicagoland Speedways. That same year Blount was named ARCA RE/MAX "Rookie of the Year".  "I really enjoyed my time in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, it taught me a lot of patience - I learned how to be aggressive, but smart at the same time" Blount remarked. "I would welcome the right opportunity to participate again in that series as well."

Blount experienced some more success when he made his move to the NASCAR Busch Series in 2003 recording a career best top-five finish at Texas Motor Speedway. Blount looked to be headed to his first ever career win later that season at Nashville SuperSpeedway, leading 28 laps before engine problems relegated him to an eighth place finish.

Blount then had the unique opportunity to do some testing for Penske Racing and some R&D work for one of the series top manufacturers. "My background is in working on race cars - I have been turning a wrench as long as I can remember," stated Chad. "When given the opportunity to help out with R&D work and testing, I jumped at the chance; it gave me the opportunity to show that I was more than just a driver."

In 2005 Blount returned to the ARCA RE/MAX Series.  In 12 starts, Blount saw Victory Lane an exceptional four times.

2006 has been a year of frustration for Blount, struggling to find a ride in NASCAR's top divisions.  His knowledge and experience make him one of NASCAR's most underestimated and untapped talents.  Given the right situation Blount can not only be a contender week in and week out for the victory, but his consistency on the track could make him a challenger for a championship. Blount is optimistic about his future.

"I am really looking forward to what the future has in store," concluded the Walkerton, Indiana native.  "I know I have the experience, and right attitude to be an asset to any team.  I really think given the right chance we can make this thing work. I've been racing all my life, it's all I know and the only thing I've ever wanted to do".

This "Rising Star" needs a place to shine.
