When you think NASCAR, you think Earnhardt, when you think great food, you think Pork. Charlotte will enjoy the perfect combination of the two when Kerry Earnhardt and his #13 Pork Racing/Chevy Silverado come to town for the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday, May 19th. But not all of the action is going to be on the track, thanks to America's Pork Producers who will be Earnhardt's primary sponsor for the Lowe's race. After the race weekend, fans will have a chance enjoy some racing fun at area Food Lion grocery stores. All of the Food Lion events will feature the Pork Racing showcar with onboard racing simulator to test fans' racing skills, and select events will also include WKKT KAT Country's custom Hummer.

Starting with the May 19th race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, the National Pork Board will adorn Earnhardt's #13 truck and Matt Crafton's #88 truck for the remainder of the 2006 season.
"The National Pork Board is excited about the exposure that this new partnership gives us. Working with Kerry Earnhardt and Matt Crafton will provide us with a solid foundation in the Craftsman Truck Series," according to Mike Walser, Eastern Division Retail Manager for the National Pork Board.
America's Pork Producers, represented by the National Pork Board, use their sponsorship of the #13 and #88 Craftsman Truck teams as an important part of their "The Other White Meat. Don't Be Blah." marketing campaign that challenges consumers to make meal-time more exciting. This sponsorship is among the many efforts funded by the National Pork Board designed to strengthen the position of pork in the marketplace and to maintain, develop, and expand markets for pork and pork products. The National Pork Board has responsibility for "Pork Checkoff" funded research, promotion and consumer information projects and for communicating with pork producers and the public. For information on Checkoff-funded programs, pork producers can call the Pork Checkoff Service Center at 800.456.PORK.
The National Pork Board developed its Pork Racing Program in early 2000. The program also includes primary sponsorship of seven-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel, designation of Pork as the Official Meat of the ARCA RE/MAX Series, a national tour of the racecar and simulator, and The Pork Pole Award recognizing the fastest qualifying car for each ARCA RE/MAX event.
