Tragedy Strikes Craftsman Truck Series Family On Friday May 12, Herbert Wayne Gill, Jr , nicknamed "Herbie", was found deceased in his home in Rockvale, TN. Herbie, who had recently turned 40, was the older brother of long time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Nextel Cup Crew Chief, Danny Gill who currently serves as Competition Director for Bobby Hamilton Racing. Herbie had been a part of the NCTS family from 2000-2004, working mostly for BHR and Morgan-Dollar Motorsports as a tire specialist. He also contributed highly to the team by serving as a spotter when needed. He was serving as Bobby Hamilton Sr.'s spotter when he won his first NCTS race at Martinsville Speedway in 2000.

After being diagnosed with Diabetes in late 2003, Herbie was forced to reduce his travel and pursued other opportunities outside of racing, but always kept close tabs on his two favorite drivers, Bobby Hamilton and Dennis Setzer. At this time an autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death. No funeral arrangements have been set.

He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind beautiful twin daughters age 13, Chelsea & Jessica, a loving mother and father, Jane & Wayne Gill, and his younger brother Danny and his wife LaRayne. . No funeral arrangements have been set. Please visit http://www.bobbyhamiltonracing.com/ for information on arrangements when they become available.
