Contests Held In Conjunction With Each Major Race This Summer
The Milwaukee Mile has announced its first-ever Miss Milwaukee Mile contest, which will see one lucky woman take home $10,000 cash and more impressive prizes for being crowned as the face of The Milwaukee Mile this Summer.
The contest was publicly announced yesterday by Milwaukee Mile Chairman Craig Stoehr and Miss Milwaukee Mile spokeswoman Sara Gilliame on WITI-TV FOX6 Milwaukee's "FOX 6 Wake-Up" program.
The Miss Milwaukee Mile Grand Prize winner will be announced on Sunday, August 27, 2006 during the speedway's Governor's Cup race weekend.
Miss Milwaukee Mile will win a Grand Prize package that includes $10,000 in cash, a one-year lease of a Toyota Solara convertible or Toyota 4-Runner (winner's choice), a trip for two to Miami to see the NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck series finales in November, a year's supply of Miller Lite beer as well as a Miller Lite personal beer vending machine, monthly salon and spa visits, and much more.
Contestants can enter the Miss Milwaukee Mile contest by attending a number of qualifying events held at popular bars and clubs in the metro Milwaukee area. Ten finalists will compete for each of The Mile's first four individual race event crowns. Individual race event contest winners will receive $1,000 in cash and other prizes.
The four Miss Milwaukee Mile individual event winners, along with an additional contestant determined by online voting, will then compete for the Grand Prize on August 27, 2006. Each overall contest finalist will receive an iPod along with a set number of iTunes downloads.
"Since taking over the promoter rights of The Milwaukee Mile January 1st, we have put a great deal of effort in developing initiatives to get our message out in creative ways, and in building events around our world class auto racing on the track," said Craig Stoehr, Milwaukee Mile Chairman. "The Miss Milwaukee Mile contest is one way we feel we can attract Milwaukee's active young adults to our events. Once they've come to The Mile, they'll be entertained and will return as frequent visitors."
Miss Milwaukee Mile contestants will be judged based on a variety of factors - including their ability to perform a tire change - by a panel of local personalities, including WITI-TV FOX6 Reporter/Anchor Nicole Koglin, Milwaukee Mile investor and former Green Bay Packer Gilbert Brown, Milwaukee Mile Chairman Craig Stoehr, Miss Milwaukee Mile spokeswoman Sara Gilliame, OnMilwaukee.com's Drew Olsen, and several other guest judges.
Miss Milwaukee Mile spokeswoman Sara Gilliame added, "This is sure to be one of the best contests ever held in Milwaukee. Given the prize package, I expect that many husbands and boyfriends will be pushing their wives and girlfriends to enter. After all, who wouldn't want a year's supply of Miller Lite Beer and a trip in cold November to Miami for the NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck series finales?"
