Kentucky Speedway and UK HealthCare's Chandler Medical Center Extend Partnership Partnership Extension Spans Through 2008 Kentucky Speedway and UK HealthCare's Chandler Medical Center at the University of Kentucky announce an extension of their corporate partnership through 2008. UK HealthCare has been the "Official Medical Provider of Kentucky Speedway" since the track opened in June of 2000. UK Healthcare also announces Petroleum Helicopters Inc. (PHI) will provide emergency-air medical services for most Kentucky Speedway events. "UK has been with us since the beginning. Its staff of physicians, nurses and paramedics are truly dedicated to our cause, and for that we are most grateful," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. "Clearly, Dr. Troy Rock and his team have proven they are the best, and we are honored to have the UK medical team with us for at least three more years." "We're pleased to continue this relationship with Kentucky Speedway and to provide this valuable service not only to the speedway, but to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky," said Sandra Chambers, assistant hospital director for UK Hospital. University of Kentucky Hospital will continue to work closely with the speedway Fire and Safety Team while providing medical services in the speedway Grandstand Care Centers and the Infield Care Center. "Dr. Rock and his staff of emergency physicians, nurses and paramedics are a valuable part of our team," Kentucky Speedway Fire and Safety Team Coordinator Charles Williams said. "They are a highly trained and motivated team of individuals committed to making this program a success. UK is a good fit for the Fire Safety Program and for Kentucky Speedway." The 2006 Kentucky Speedway season opens Saturday, May 13 with the ARCA RE/MAX Series "Harley-Davidson of Cincinnati 150" and will feature four race weekends. Opening day includes a prerace concert with country music quintet Cowboy Crush. Other speedway main events will showcase the NASCAR Busch Series June 17, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series July 8 and Indy Racing League IndyCar Series race August 13. Support events will spotlight the new USAC Silver Crown Series, ARCA RE/MAX Series, USAC Ford Focus Midget Car Series and IRL Indy Pro Series. All race weekends will include a race-day concert with top country music talent such as Lonestar (June), The Charlie Daniels Band (July) and Hot Apple Pie (August).
