David Reutimann finished ninth driving his No. 21 Scion tC during the 30th Annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. With the 10-lap event at the 1.97-mile Long Beach (Cali.) street circuit ending under caution, Bucky Lasek (Professional Skateboarder, X Games Gold Medalist) won the event. John Elway, Martina Navratilova, Todd Bodine and Bo Bice rounded out the top-five.

"We knew Bucky was going to be tough to beat," said Reutimann, who was fifth during the practice/qualifying session yesterday. "Bucky and all of the other celebrities and professional drivers came here to win. They are all very competitive. We were decent in the practice and qualifying session yesterday. Then, at the start of the race today, they separated the pros and the celebrities. There was something like a 25 or 30 second separation between us. I had a blast doing this deal. I wish we could have finished the race under green. We had a few laps left, but we were over our time limit and they had to end it."

"Toyota and their partners do an incredible job with this event," continued Reutimann. "I'm thankful for the invitation and I hope to be able to come back again in the near future. It's just a whole different deal. It was an incredible experience. We all did our best and had a lot of fun."

Reutimann tried to keep his nose clean during the feature, but made contact with the one person he didn't want to have a run in with during the race.

"Man, I turned William Shatner," said Reutimann, who was one of 21 Toyota Pro/Celebrity competitors. "I felt awful about spinning him out. After the race, I went and found him. He said not to worry about it. He wasn't mad or anything. I thought he might rough me up or something, but he was pretty cool about the deal. I think he ended up finishing 17th."

While Shatner and a few others didn't fair so well, the rest of the top-10 finishing order included Patrick Dempsey (sixth), Johnny Greaves (seventh), Xzibit (eighth), and Vinnie Jones (10th).
