04-06-2006 | TruckSeries.com Report
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series owner, Rick Woodard announced early Wednesday that he and partner, Eddie Sharp will be parting ways in their newly-formed team, Woodard & Sharp Racing. Woodard, a Florida based builder and Sharp, a 20-year racing veteran, entered into a partnership in the beginning of the 2006 season to field the No. 25 Woodard & Sharp Racing Dodge Ram with rookie driver Boston Reid; with plans to utilize Sharp's ARCA/REMAX Series team as a "stepping stone" for future NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers. "Eddie has been a big part of this team up to this point. All though we hate to lose him I think it's going to better for both sides," said Woodard. "This was a mutual agreement between Eddie and I and this will allow Eddie the time he needs to concentrate on his ARCA teams. We have good people here at the shop and a rookie driver that has the potential to take this team to the top. I look forward to the future of this company with everyone that is involved. We wish Eddie the best of luck in the future." Effective immediately, the team will change its name to Woodard Racing. Reid and team are looking forward to Gateway on April 29th and working their way back into the top-30 in owner's points.
