With the first three events of the 2006 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule all on tracks 1.5-miles in length or longer, the first short track event of the season at Martinsville brings some wholesale changes in the way the teams set up their chassis.
Gone are the small, almost wafer-thin brake rotors and calipers, replaced by the massive thick heavy duty components that look like they could stop a big rig. Fenders are beefed up with heavier supports to account for some expected fender rubbing, and nose weights and cross weights are all vastly different.

In order to get a better understanding of what goes in to finding a good short track setup, TruckSeries.com sat down with one of the best in the business Rick Ren.
Ren has a strong winning background in various forms of NASCAR racing, from wins with Ward Burton in the Busch Series to one of the most competitive teams in the Craftsman Truck Series with Addington Racing and drivers Andy Houston and Travis Kvapil.
