In 2009, the newly-announced NASCAR Hall of Fame will open in Charlotte, North Carolina, celebrating and commemorating the best to have ever put the pedal to the metal. By that time, many of the subjects of the original new weekly series, NASCAR DRIVEN TO WIN may well be on their way to an eventual spot in that hallowed hall. The series, which delves into the lives of the racing circuit's hottest up-and-comers, delivers an "under-the-hood" glimpse of life both on-and-off the track like never before. And two races into the 36-race NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season, all of the series' subjects to date can be found in the upper tier of NASCAR standings, with Kasey Kahne (#4) and Kyle Bush (#12) leading the way. But where they finish in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup is only part of their story

NASCAR DRIVEN TO WIN: RUSTY & STEPHEN WALLACE
World Premiere Airing on March 22 at 10:00pm ET/9:00pm CT/11:00pm PT
Much like Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace's drive toward retirement is seen among longtime NASCAR fans as the end of a racing era. Wallace doesn't see it that way. Instead, the end of his driving career is simply the beginning of the next Wallace legacy - Stephen Wallace. Rusty grew up racing motorcycles and racecars in and around St. Louis, competing with little brothers Mike and Kenny while their mother and father handled logistics and finances. In 2005, the Wallace family history is repeating itself. After several Wallace kids cut their teeth in Legends Cars, Stephen has emerged as the candidate to continue the family tradition. Already well-versed in multiple short track series, Wallace made his ARCA debut in the summer of 2005. Only days after turning 18, he won his first ARCA race, becoming one of the youngest winners in history. Later that year, he made his NASCAR Busch Series debut, with surprisingly good results. In 2006, he will run select NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA events for his father's Rusty Wallace, Inc. team. Meanwhile, the Wallace family is supporting their next star the same way they rallied about the three brothers nearly three decades ago. Interviews include Rusty and Stephen, uncles/NASCAR drivers Kenny and Mike, additional members of the Wallace family and more.
NASCAR DRIVEN TO WIN: ERIN CROCKER
World Premiere Airing on March 22 at 10:30pm ET/9:30pm CT/11:30pm PT
Erin Crocker kicks off her Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year campaign in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2006, driving the No. 98 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Ram for Evernham Motorsports. The 24-year old Wilbraham, Mass., native -- the first female to join the Evernham Motorsports driver development program -- will also drive for Cheerios, Betty Crocker and Hamburger Helper in the ARCA RE/MAX and NASCAR Busch Series. She comes to Evernham from the open-wheel ranks, after beginning her racing career in a Quarter Midget at the young age of seven. Aside from racing, Crocker balanced her life on the track with sports and academics through high school, participating at in soccer, tennis and lacrosse, as well as being a member of the ski team. Even with all that, in 1997 -- her sophomore year of high school -- she became the youngest driver to win a feature at Whip City Speedway en route to Rookie-of-the-Year honors. Today, Crocker, a 2003 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (where she played varsity lacrosse), has an incredibly bright future in racing. "Erin Crocker has the opportunity to do some very special things over the next few years," says Sprint Car and Midget Magazine's Dave Argabright. "She has just the right mix of ability, desire and personality to truly make her mark on the sport."
NASCAR DRIVEN TO WIN: BRIAN VICKERS
World Premiere Airing on March 29 at 10:00pm ET/9:00pm CT/11:00pm PT
Picture this - the neighborhood carpool is headed to school in Thomasville, NC. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Kyle Petty is driving. His son Adam is in the front seat. Justin Labonte, son of two-time Cup champ Terry Labonte, is in the backseat. And next to Labonte is classmate Brian Vickers. Three kids living in the same town and hoping to follow in the footsteps of their carpool chauffeur. Just a few years later, Vickers' dreams were already coming true, thanks to a chance taken by an old rival and fast friend. Racing in the NASCAR Busch Series on a shoestring family budget, Vickers impressed another member of NASCAR's second generation: Ricky Hendrick, son of Rick Hendrick. Although it was a hunch, Vickers made the younger Hendrick look wise beyond his years, winning the NASCAR Busch Series championship at the age of 19, the youngest champion in NASCAR history. Vickers won the title with a heavy heart, still grieving the death of childhood friend Adam Petty two years earlier. All season long he raced with Adam's old cap riding in the car with him and dedicated the title to his friend, paying an emotional visit to Kyle Petty on the morning that he clinched. At the end of a difficult 2004 rookie campaign in Nextel Cup, tragedy struck again. Ricky Hendrick was killed along with nine others in a plane crash near the Martinsville Speedway. Now Vickers races as a too-mature 22-year old, with the memories of two fallen friends to keep him pushing for that elusive first NASCAR NEXTEL Cup victory.
Upcoming episodes will focus on other up-and-comers including MARTIN TRUEX, JR., JAMIE McMURRAY, CASEY MEARS, CARL EDWARDS and more. Tune-in each week to see how these young drivers have dealt with their new fame and fortune on "NASCAR DRIVEN TO WIN," where the checkered flag is just the beginning.
