It's a Family Affair for Cook at Atlanta

Terry Cook makes his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCTS) start at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS), only this time with his brother-in-law, Bobby East. East, a Team Ford Racing driver, is brother to Amy, Cook's wife of five years. Bobby East will drive the No. 21 Ford F-150 for Wood Brothers / JTG Racing Friday night.

Cook makes his 200th-consecutive NCTS start Friday night at AMS. Cook is the leader in consecutive starts among active drivers. Rick Crawford holds the all-time record at 209.

Dennis Connor is the team's new crew chief. He has three NCTS championships to his name (1997, '99 and 2001) and twice was runner-up (1996, '98). Tony Hirschman III (spotter) is the son of five-time NASCAR Whelen Modified champion, Tony Sr. Hirschman has spotted since 1994 in modifieds, open-wheel and stock car racing. 2005 marks his first year spotting in the NCTS. Nicole Addison (rear tire changer) is the only female over-the-wall crew member in NASCAR's top-three divisions. This is her second year in the NCTS. Kenneth Purcell, jack man, is from Savannah, Ga., his second year with the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team.

Cook on Competing Against Brother-in-Law:
"It's a pretty neat deal to be able to race against a family member. This will be a big race for Bobby; it will be his first race in the truck for the 2006 season and it will be a big race in Atlanta. Anytime that it's one of your first races - he hasn't run but a handful of truck races - and for it to be one of his first races to race at Atlanta, that in itself is a big deal. The main thing for him to do is go there and focus on qualifying and get into the show. Then it's a matter of logging laps throughout the race and at the end of the day if he can make it into the show and drive it on the trailer, I think we'll consider that a victory in itself right there."

Cook On The Exciting Finishes at AMS:
"I think the biggest reason truck racing is good at Atlanta is the shape and the configuration of the track. The track has a tremendous amount of banking and the asphalt has aged just the right amount where it promotes good grip from the bottom of the track all the way up to the fence. I think not only the people that race the trucks but anybody that races there that's what you like about that facility, is you can race all over the track. It provides great side-by-side racing."
