It's Official, Park to Drive No. 59 Ford at Atlanta

The No. 59 HT Motorsports team announced two changes that affect its status heading into the third event of the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the John Deere 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 17th.

Steve Park will take over driving duties for the team and the race shop is busy putting the finishing touches on a Ford F-150, rather than the Dodge Ram they have entered in events since their inception.

"I'm real excited to get the opportunity to drive for HT Motorsports," said Park. "I am looking forward to getting some great results at the track next weekend in Atlanta and see how the rest of this year could work out," he added.

Team Owner Jim Harris commented on the changes: "We're looking for the right combination to raise our level of performance on the race track," he stated. "I think having Steve behind the wheel next week will be good thing-he's got a great record at Atlanta. As for the manufacturer's change, it's something we're willing to try out," he added.

So far, the team still plans to field Dodge Ram trucks at racetracks less than a mile and a half in length. The Ford trucks will be built for the intermediate and superspeedway racetracks.

"It's a challenge getting everything switched over so quickly," said crew chief Kevin Cram. "One thing we can count on is the quality of work our guys in the shop are capable of. It's time they saw the payoff in results at the track," he added.
