Hornaday Headed to Mexico with KHI Busch TeamsRookie Lamar to have Hornaday and Fellows to go to for road course advice

After racing two straight weekends on the NASCAR Truck Series, circuit teams will have the benefit of a weekend off.  That's not the case for two-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday.  Instead of relaxing at home, the driver of the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet will travel south of the border.

Hornaday is traveling to the Busch Series event in Mexico City, Mexico on his off weekend to help Rookie of the Year contender Burney Lamar.

"Burney is my buddy and I want to do everything I can to help him in his career," said Hornaday. "He'll listen to me and hopefully I can teach him a thing or two. And besides we are going out of the country, what if he gets sick…I need to be there to fill in for him," Hornaday joked.

During the off season, the No. 77 Dollar General team tested at VIRginia International Raceway and Sebring (Fla.) International Raceway to help Lamar hone his road racing skills.  Although Lamar has some experience turning left and right in the Southwest Series, he was shown the ropes by two of the best--Ron Fellows (Lamar's KHI teammate for the Telcel-Motorola 200) and teammate Ron Hornaday.

"You can't ask for better teachers than Ron Hornaday and Ron Fellows," said Lamar. "Even after testing this winter at a few road courses, I still have a lot to learn. It will be to my benefit to have Hornaday and Fellows down there to talk to, and Hornaday is going to spot for me during the race."
