NASCAR announced today that three penalties have been issued to the No. 06 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevrolet team as a result of rules violations this last week at California Speedway.
The penalties were assessed due to the use of an unapproved carburetor main body modification, a violation of Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 12-4-Q 20B-5.10.1B(1) (truck, truck parts, components and/or equipment that do not conform to NASCAR rules) of the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rule Book. Crew chief Bryan Berry was fined $5,000; driver Chad McCumbee was penalized with the loss of 25 driver championship points; and truck owner David Malcolmson was penalized 25 owner championship points.
