Judy Kouba-Dominick has won NASCAR's PR Rep of the Year Award for her public relations work for General Motors last year in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Kouba-Dominick, a trackside communications manager working for GM, received the award at the NASCAR PR Summit at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 14.
"Judy is an extremely talented and dedicated public relations professional who has earned tremendous respect in the racing community," said Mark Kent, director of GM Racing. "We are all very proud of her accomplishments and pleased to have her as a part of our GM communications team."
Kouba-Dominick is no stranger to the racing world. With a father who raced midgets, sprint cars and Silver Crown cars in the West and Midwest regions, she attended her first race before she was two weeks old.
Her career includes over 20 years of experience in journalism, public relations and marketing across a spectrum of racing series including AMA Motorcyle road racing, USAC midget racing, NHRA, IRL and all three of NASCAR's premier series. Kouba-Dominick also previously handled marketing and PR for three Colorado race tracks and worked with a motorsports radio show in Denver during the early '90s.
Kouba-Dominick has been responsible for Chevrolet's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series communications activities since 2004. This year she is also assisting with Chevrolet trackside communications at a number of NASCAR Nextel Cup Series events.
