Rookie Kraig Kinser Posts Fastest Chevy Silverado Time

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year contender Kraig Kinser posted the 11th fastest qualifying time for the GM FlexFuel 250 at Daytona International Speedway. Kinser's time made him the fastest Chevy Silverado in the field. Friday night's race will be the former sprint car racers first ever NCTS start.

Kraig Kinser, No. 47 Centrix Auto Finance Silverado, Qualified 11th:
"A little bit of the stress is gone now that we made the race. We gave it everything we could on our two laps. Randy Goss (crew chief) and the all the Morgan-Dollar guys worked so hard to give me a Silverado good enough to get us in the race. So now it is up to me to stay out of trouble tomorrow night, bring it home with all the fenders on it and points when we go on to California. I just want to learn as much as I can about racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series."

Mike Bliss, No. 16 Xpress Motorsports Silverado, Qualified 19th:
"The air kept getting heavier and heavier so going out as late as we did was a disadvantage. Our Xpress Silverado should race pretty good. I am just ready to take the green flag to go racing."

Kelly Sutton, No. 02 Team Copaxone Silverado, Qualified 20th:
"This is such a huge boost for the morale of this team. Gary Showalter came on board this year as our crew chief and the changes in our team are already amazing. I am excited to be in the FlexFuel 250 behind the wheel of this Silverado."

Ron Hornaday, No. 33 Kevin Harvick, Inc. Silverado, Qualified 22nd:
"Qualifying went about the way we thought it would in our Silverado. We just couldn't get quite the speed out of it by ourselves but I feel like we have a good race truck that will draft well tomorrow night. We will be up front to race for the win at the end."

Kerry Earnhardt, No. 13 Thorsport Silverado, Qualified 23rd:
"We had hoped to qualify a little better than this but I know our ThorSport Silverado will be good in the draft. I have my teammate Matt Crafton right behind me so we will hook up and go to the front. The key is to avoid trouble so we are there at the end."

Matt Crafton, No. 88 Menards Silverado, Qualified 24th:
"I think we could have been a little farther up the board if we had gone out a little earlier in the order because the air is so heavy that it created a lot more drag on the drug and bogged down the motor more that we needed it to get a better starting spot. With Kerry right in front of us, we should be able to move through the field and get to the front."

Kyle Krisiloff, No 15 ditech.com/Land Liquidators Silverado, Qualified 25th:
"We were a little surprised by how qualifying went. We were better than that by ourselves earlier but we have a good race truck. My goal is to stay out of trouble and be up near the front so we can get a good finish here at Daytona in our ditech.com Silverado and then go on to California.

Dennis Setzer, No. 85 Chevrolet E85 FlexFuel Silverado, Qualified 27th:
"I am happy with our FlexFuel Silverado. As I said today after practice, where you qualify isn't nearly as important at Daytona as where you finish. We did what we needed to do this morning to get a truck that will run well in the draft. I can hardly wait until the green flag drops tomorrow night.

Aric Almirola, No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Silverado, Qualified 37th:
"We found out we hurt the motor when we spun yesterday so NASCAR is going to let us put a new one in for the race. It felt so down on power today during practice so we knew something had to be going on. I know Dave McCarty and the guys gave me a good truck to run tomorrow night and I have a lot of confidence in my Spears Silverado. We will take our time and work our way to the front."
