Compassionate Gift Will Enable K Automotive to Make Trip to Daytona - Following the unfortunate news of this past week that K Automotive Motorsports would be forced to miss the upcoming season opener NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Daytona International Speedway, a compassionate gift was presented to the team that will enable them to compete in Friday's GM Flex Fuel 250.
A former NASCAR Nextel Cup team owner heard about the story and made the decision to help a fellow Michigan family continue their family tradition for another race. The No. 29 M Select by Melling Performance Engine Parts Ford driven by Brad Keselowski will compete this weekend in Daytona.
"Making the decision that we would not be able to attend the Daytona race was one of the hardest things that our family has been through," said Kay Keselowski, General Manager and Owner of K Automotive Motorsports. "But when this phone call came in and this tremendous gift was presented that will enable our team to make the trip to Daytona and compete in the race, there are just not enough words to thank someone for that type of generosity. The past week has been so painful, but to have something like this happen truly shows how much the entire world of motorsports looks out for each other in ways that are simply unbelievable."
Brad Keselowski competed at the Daytona International Speedway in 2005 where he finished in the seventh position. Friday night's race will mark the 263rd start for K Automotive in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. No races past Daytona have been scheduled for K Automotive without additional funding for the race team.
