News and Notes

  • HT Motorsports will be bringing Chassis No. HT 4 as primary. The chassis has been previously last year at Daytona, but has had a new body fitted in the off-season.
  • M Select performance engine parts by Melling is the primary sponsor-marking the 28th straight year of Speedweeks participation for Melling (since 1979).
  • In four Craftsman Truck Series starts at Daytona, Mike Wallace has one victory (2001), two top-fives and three top-10 finishes.
  • The HT Motorsports No. 59 truck posted the fifth fastest overall speed in the drafting session during the Daytona test last month.

Driver Mike Wallace on Daytona International Speedway:
"I am really looking forward to running Daytona with Jim Harris' organization. We came down here and tested and the guys have built a great truck-wonderful in the draft. Daytona has always been a great place for me personally-it's always treated me very well. I hope I can continue with the good finishes this year for the sake of Melling and Harris Trucking and everyone else involved. I'm going to give it my best shot."

Crew Chief Kevin Cram on Daytona International Speedway:
"We burned some midnight oil to get everything done in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that we've dotted all our I's and crossed all our T's. I think the guys back at the shop have built us a terrific truck and testing seemed to back up its ability. We've just got to maintain some good focus throughout the week and make the most of the little time that we have on the track before its time to race."
