Update: K Automotive Secures Unexpected Sponsor for Daytona K Automotive Motorsports, one of the longest-running teams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will not be making their 263rd start next weekend at the Daytona International Speedway due to lack of sponsorship funding. The K Automotive team has a fully-prepared Ford race truck ready for competition if any type of sponsorship funding was to come together prior to the event.

"It is a really sad thing for our team to be forced to miss the Daytona event," said Kay Keselowski, Team Owner and General Manager. "Our team has worked really hard throughout the off-season to get this race truck ready and we were looking forward to backing up the top-ten finish that we had in Daytona last year. But with no sponsorship funding coming through, it looks as though we are going to be forced to miss the event. We are hopeful that something may come together later in the season, but for right now it does not look as though we will make Daytona or California."

The K Automotive race team has competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series since the series inception in 1995 with a total of 262 starts in the series which is ranked third in most races run by a team in the series. In those starts, K Automotive has earned ten wins, 37 top-five finishes and 107 top-ten finishes. K Automotive and their No. 29 Ford team earned the 25th position in owner points at the end of the 2006 season making them eligible for a guaranteed starting position in the first four races of 2006.
