Murphy Prepared for 2006 Rookie Battle in No. 07 Greenlight Chevy

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team, Green Light Racing, today announced that their rookie driver, Sean Murphy, will be manning the No. 07 Chevy Silverado Truck for the racing organization. Backed by team sponsor Murvest Fine Foods, a manufacturer and distributor of specialty food products for the cruise line industry, Murphy will compete in a minimum of seven races and will once again be competing for Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors in 2006.

During the recent pre-season testing at Daytona International Speedway on January 13-14, Murphy garnered accolades from teammates, fellow drivers and media alike, as he drove away with the second fastest time for Drafting (Day 1). Says Green Light Racing owner Bobby Dotter, "Sean is an amazing young talent with the skills to become a NASCAR star. His testing and consistency prove that he's ready and worthy of a Daytona start and we're all excited about having him back in the 07." Murphy also secured a Best Lap time that placed him 11th among the 50 trucks on-hand.

Murphy will next be competing in the Mark III Conversions Speedfest 2006 weekend. Coined as the "best of the best" from the Super Late Model sanctioning bodies, this open event will return to USA International Speedway in Lakeland, FL, January 26-28.

Murphy, the 21-year old Ft. Lauderdale, FL resident, made seven successful NCTS starts for Green Light Racing in 2005. In 2004 Murphy had four successful NCTS starts in his debut with Green Light Racing and ended the season by leading green flag laps at Homestead-Miami. "Running a limited schedule is a serious disadvantage," says Murphy. "We're working hard to secure marketing partners that will allow us to run all the races in 2006. This is a tough series with lots of veteran drivers. Bobby Dotter is a great teacher and I've learned a tremendous amount. I'm looking forward to the day when I'm able to run the full truck schedule with him."

Green Light Racing is owned and operated by racing veteran Bobby Dotter. Headquartered in Mooresville, NC, the Chevy Silverado Truck team has successfully fielded both the #07 and #08 trucks full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for several years.
