Deborah Renshaw Delivers Top-20 Finish at Texas

Deborah Renshaw and the BHR2 team delivered another solid performance Friday night with a 20th place finish in the Silverado 350K at the Texas Motor Speedway. The run was the sixth top-20 for Renshaw in the 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.

Renshaw started 26th on the grid for the 147 lap race, No. 23 of the 25-race season. The restart following a lap-two caution assisted Renshaw in finding her rhythm on the race track. She maintained a consistent pace throughout the race.

"I was struggling there a bit," Renshaw said. "I was getting so tight off in the center and the exit of the corner that I thought I was going to send it into the wall a few times. I settled in and was able to hit my marks which helped us be competitive throughout the night."

"Our team has been working hard this season to bring us up to the next level of competition. I think our performance at Texas is a significant statement about how much progress we are all making. I feel that these past five races have been a real turning point for us."

Shawn Parker, crew chief, once again used pit strategy to gain track position for the No. 8 Dodge truck, landing Renshaw in the top-10 restart position on lap 66. Also the BHR2's pit crew was on top of their game with lightning fast pit stops. Their efforts advanced Renshaw six positions spots after a caution flag pit stop on lap 96.

Renshaw gained strength and confidence in each lap she drove and brought home a 20th place finish for the BHR2 team.

"My guys were awesome tonight," Renshaw said "They had me in and out of the pits so fast - making all the right changes without error. That just shows you the dedication of these guys to this program. We've worked hard all year and it is starting to show."
