Pressley Takes 26th Place at Texas Motor Speedway

Robert Pressley, driving the No. 59 Harris Trucking Dodge, managed a 26th place finish at Texas Motor Speedway during the running of the Chevy Silverado 350K.  The team put together a valiant effort, though the problems that have plagued the team on the 1.5-mile tracks were once again present.

Rolling off the starting grid in the 33rd spot, Pressley dodged a wreck on the second lap of the event at the No. 07 truck took a wild ride on the backstretch.  By lap 17, Pressley keyed the radio and reported to crew chief Kevin Cram that the truck was tight on exit of the corners.  The team would get the chance to work on the truck during their first pit stop of the night, occurring on lap 40.  The team changed four tires, added tape on the nose and took a round of wedge out of the left rear of the chassis.

Pressley restarted the event in 32nd place on lap 43.  Pressley made some moderate progress up to 27th place in the running order, before going a lap down to the leader.  The team pitted once again on lap 62 of the 147-lap event.  This time the team added more tape to the front grille to assist in the downforce, and changed four tires once again.

After the restart, Pressley was consumed with chasing down the No. 82 truck, who was the first truck one lap down.  The HT Motorsports team desperately wanted to get the "Lucky Dog" ruling to get back on the lead lap.  However, the next caution on lap 84 came too early to help them.

Pressley pitted for four tires on lap 87 and restarted the event in 27th on lap 89.  After running up front with the leaders, Pressley got the "Lucky Dog" award when the next caution flag flew on lap 96 of the race.

Pressley came down pit road for a minor repair to the left front of the truck body, four tires and to check the water temperature, which had started to climb due to the added tape on the grille.  The team pulled off some of the tape and the problem vanished.

Pressley hung tight in 26th place for the remainder of the event, though he did go a lap down once again late in the event.  The team pitted the final time for tires on lap 135 of the event.

The next event is at Phoenix International Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona on November 11th.
