Todd Kluever-50-World Financial Group Ford F-150 (Qualified 5th)
"We ran a (29).58 in our bonsai run in practice and a ran a 60 here. Our World Financial Group Ford F-150 is pretty good and we'll get it in the race tomorrow. I think that hopefully will put us somewhere close top the top 10 or right around there.  We'll just get a decent starting spot and it will be good for tomorrow."

Was your early qualifying draw an advantage or disadvantage tonight? "I think it's a disadvantage really, but we'll see.  Thinking about it, wide open is wide open, whether it's the heat of the day or the cool of the night. If you've got enough grip to do it in the daytime, all of the grip in the world might not help you later on. We'll see. I think it's going to be a disadvantage; motors like the cool weather a little bit, but it is what it is."

As a rookie, is it tougher to be the first to qualify and have to set the pace? "At a place like this, not as much just because it's wide open here. It's just one of the deals where you go out and put it in fourth gear and hold it to the floorboards and steer around for two laps. It definitely isn't the most fun to go first, but it's a little less difficult here."

Are the track conditions drastically different here at night? "I don't think so. Like I said, there's enough grip here in the daytime that we can run wide open, so the night just makes it a little easier, which is great for us. I think it will make the racing better because it will bring more trucks into the wide-open category, and it will make more trucks handle at that level. It will be better for racing, but it's pretty similar, just a little more grip."

Will track position be an important factor throughout the race? "I'd love to see it like was in the spring where we got a nice long green-flag run and green-flag pit stops and the whole deal. Usually on these mile-and-a-halfs, we end up not being so good the first 10 laps of a run but really good the longer we go in a run, so I'd really like to see one go a long distance and see where we end up."

Rick Crawford-14-Circle Bar Truck Corral Ford F-150 (Qualified 20th)
After the incident in practice, is the truck where it needs to be for the race?
"We were just discussing that. We were up on air pressure to qualify, of course, and that was two wide-open laps to the mat. It drove really good and I was pleased with that. I'm three-tenths away from where I thought we should be. You want to blame it on the little incident in the gargle, but I don't think that's what it is. We'll have to wait and see.  The truck drives too good. It's built Ford tough, and we used our Craftsman tools to fix tit, so it should be about right."

Was the practice incident a case of not having enough space on the asphalt? "I'm letting it go. I think we could have used more room here, and they have it, but I think once they realize the picture they tried to fix it. It was sitting still and got backed over in the parking lot. The Circle Bar Truck Corral gang got her fixed up."

Is the truck back to 100 percent? "Yeah, and I want to win tomorrow night. Texas is my home track. I wish I could tell people that I am from Texas, but I got here as quick as I could."

Terry Cook-10-Ford Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l F-150 (Qualified 3rd)
"I'm not sure where that came from, but we rolled off the trailer and we were extremely fast right off the trailer in practice today. We have unbelievable horsepower under the hood this weekend. This is the newest generation Yates-Roush truck engine, and it has an unbelievable amount of horsepower. We knew we had a great truck and we felt good about it, and we made a lot of changes after practice going into qualifying. In qualifying trim in final practice, we ran flat out and all we could run was a 30(.02). To pick up almost five tenths from our last qualifying run is huge. I'm not sure where it came from, but give credit to the entire Ford Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l race team. All I do is hold it wide open, and it was easy to drive and they prepared a great vehicle."

With qualifying taking place at night and tomorrow's race being run at night, can we expect the trucks that were fast tonight to be fast tomorrow? "I think so. We traditionally go to an impound race where we qualify in the daytime and the trucks are out of control, and they're so much different than they are at night. Knowing that we're qualifying at night, I think it will correlate a lot. Traditionally here at Texas, if you're good here in qualifying and you qualify up front, you'll have a good truck, it's just how long will it stay good? I feel like ours will stay good all night long."

Ricky Craven-99-Superchips Ford F-150 (Qualified 17th)
"It's about what we expected. We made some pretty good gains in practice and didn't expect it to qualify much better than 15th, which is better than my average. Qualifying certainly hasn't been our strength, but we've raced awfully well here, particularly of late. It's the same truck we ran last week in Atlanta, and I'm looking forward to it."

Is the driving line different here in a truck versus a car? "It was pretty easy all day to get it wide open through one and two. The wind is blowing really hard down the frontstretch and it makes it real difficult to get into three. The wind seems to be pushing you out on your entry into three. It makes it very difficult to get the truck down to the bottom. I had a little bit of trouble, again, in qualifying getting it to the bottom, and I think it was the wind."

Todd Kluever Press Conference
"When I was here in the spring, I tested just before that. I had the same truck that I have here today, and I wrecked it in that test, so when we came back we didn't have a truck that was as good as the one I crashed in the test, so we were kind of stuck there. That was a terrible night for us, but tomorrow night should be a lot better. Our World Financial Group Ford F-150 is really good. We only missed the pole by a little bit. I think that's about the closest that we've come time-wise. We've been second before, but I think time-wise, we were as close as we've come. Our truck is good, and hopefully we'll be there at the end and somewhere contending for the win."

"We qualified fourth at Atlanta, so we were up front most of the day and running in the top five all day long and wrecked there at the start-finish line at the checkered flag. We finished sixth, but we killed that truck. It's certainly a bonus to start up front. You don't have to get back in traffic. The trucks get pretty free when you're side-by-side with another truck, so it's nice to be somewhere in the top five. Generally, those guys get going and get strung out a little bit from the rest of the pack."

Terry Cook Press Conference
"Listening to Bill (Lester) talk, it's kind of the trend. We brought a brand-new truck here as well. It's the first time ever on the race track. Similar circumstances, we took it to the wind tunnel, evaluated it and it was a good truck. But, I think the true credit comes from not only my crew building a great truck, but the Yates-Roush horsepower is unbelievable. They've built some really good racing engines this year, but this by far was the strongest engine that I've had. We rolled off the trailer and it's been good, and I don't know where that lap came from. We were expecting, or I was, to qualify 20th. We did a simulated qualifying run and it was about 19th fastest. I'm very surprised with that lap. The truck is a better race truck than it is a qualifier, and the fact that it qualified third, I think speaks highly for us tomorrow."

"It was strictly race setup for us, and with it being an impound, it's hard. In our camp, we focus 100 percent on race-run stuff. We actually scuffed all of our tires getting ready for the race; we didn't want to leave anything to chance. Earlier this summer, we were leading the race at Kentucky with four laps to go, and had a straightway lead and blew a tire, and we attribute that to too many heat cycles on a sticker tire. So, we purposely came here with 100 percent race mode in mind and scuffed everything that we had.  We qualified on stickers, but in essence now they'll be scuffs to start the race, so we're in full race mode."
