Chevy Practice Notes: Martinsville
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Bobby Labonte, No. 16 Chevy Trucks Chevrolet Silverado, 12th in Practice: "We are pretty good. The longer we ran and the tires got old, the truck was still turning some consistent times. I think we are going to race very well. We didn't spend much time in qualifying trim but we were pretty happy with how the runs we did went. I am looking forward to qualifying and then tomorrow's race."

Dennis Setzer, No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado, 2nd in Practice: "We are really good in qualifying trim but started off a little slow in race form. But Eric (Phillips) and the guys worked hard on our Silverado and by the end of practice, we were pretty good.

"Martinsville is my favorite track. I really enjoy racing here, I always have. Track position is critical so qualifying near the front is really important. I am excited for tomorrow's race."

Ron Hornaday, No. 6 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet Silverado, 21st in Practice: "We need to be better than we are, we struggled in practice. But I know Wally (Rogers, crew chief) and the crew will get our GM Goodwrench Chevy where we need to be."

Willie Allen, No. 47 Chevrolet Nashville Music City Silverado 7th in Practice: "I am really happy with my Silverado. Randy Goss (crew chief) and the guys worked hard to give me a good truck before we got here. We tweaked on it in race trim for most of practice but we ended up pretty good for qualifying as well.

"I just want to qualify decent and then run every lap tomorrow to gain as much experience as possible."

David Starr, No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet Silverado, 31st in Practice: "I don't like my truck right now. I had a difficult practice today. Dave McCarty and the guys are making adjustments to make it better. I'm sure we'll be fine for the race once we are finished tweaking some things. Just right now the truck is not doing what we need it to do. I have confidence McCarty can get the No. 75 Silverado where we need to be on race day."
