Raybestos Rookie Race Notes: Richmond
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

TIMOTHY PETERS IN THE No. 4 BAILEY'S DODGE WAS THE RAYBESTOS ROOKIE OF THE RACE AT RICHMOND.
Notes:
Peters finished 29th and took top rookie honors for the third time this season.  Peters last claimed Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors June 4 MBNA RacePoints 200 (race number 8) at Dover (Del.) International Speedway where he placed a career-best sixth.  He plans to run three more races this season: Martinsville, Atlanta, and Homestead.  "We finished, that's about all I can say.  I really don't know what to say.  They say that I'm a Raybestos Rookie, but I think there's a couple of guys that ought to be labeled a rookie.  They just drive over their nose and that's what cost us.  We sat back there and we were on the same pit sequence as the 47.  I don't think we were as good as him, but we had a pretty decent truck.  We just run over by the 38.  Our night just went away real quick.  Like I said, people just drive over their heads.  I'll be back at Martinsville and ready to do it again."

TODD KLUEVER, No. 50 WORLD FINANCIAL GROUP FORD:
"I had a pretty good World Financial Group Ford truck.  Obviously the 5 truck was fastest and he was going to win it but we were going to try to finish second or third there.  A truck two laps down decided that he needed to be right up my rear bumper the whole night and decided to run me over when there was a wreck.  Unfortunately it's just something that happens, I guess.  I can't explain it.  When there's that much room and there's really nothing to be gained it's kind of sad to get run over."

ONCE YOU GOT TRACK POSITION YOU COULD RUN WITH ANYONE.  "Definitely the 5 truck was the class of the field, but our truck wasn't too bad.  We were trying to finish somewhere in the top-three but even top-five would have been great.  It would have been a good points night for us.  Unfortunately you get run over."

HOW MUCH DAMAGE WAS THERE TO THE TRUCK?  "I didn't even really look at it.  I know it's front and back and the radiator is knocked out of it.  It's torn up pretty bad for a lap truck running me over.  I'm just really disgusted right now.  I saw the 38 truck spin out or whatever.  I think something was broke on it; it was damaged.  I just checked up, just trying to make sure which was he was going to go and really had no problem and got run over from behind by a truck that was two laps down.  It's really disgusting because he had nothing to gain by it and we had nothing to gain by it and there was a straightway back to the next lapped truck.  It's just really, really disgusting what happened to us."
