Chevy Practice Notes: Richmond

JACK SPRAGUE, NO 16 CHEVY TRUCKS TRACE ADKINS SILVERADO, 3RD IN FIRST PRACTICE; 19TH IN SECOND PRACTICE: "Our Chevy Trucks Silverado is going to race pretty good, but I really don't know how we are going to qualify to be honest.  The crew is going to make some changes before qualifying but we aren't sure how much we will actually gain out there.  This is going to be a tight field so obviously the closer to the front we can qualify the better we will be tonight."

DENNIS SETZER, NO 46 CHEVROLET BLUE COUNTY SILVERADO, 34TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 21ST IN SECOND PRACTICE:  "We are searching for something in our Chevrolet Silverado.  We just aren't quite where we need to be yet.  We did a couple of qualifying runs and I think with how close the times are, that is probably about where we will qualify.  The guys are making some changes and working really hard so I know we will have a good truck for tonight's race."

DAVID STARR, NO. 75 SPEARS MANUFACTURING SILVERADO, 2ND IN FIRST PRACTICE; 26TH IN SECOND PRACTICE:  "The times don't really reflect how good I think my Chevy Silverado will be tonight.  We made some changes that the truck liked and we made some changes that it didn't like. We did a couple qualifying runs and I think we will have a top-15 truck for qualifying.  The truck is rolling through the center really well and we have good forward bite. That is what you need to be fast here at Richmond."

RON HORNADAY, NO. 6 GM GOODWRENCH LOS LONELY BOYS SILVERADO, 4TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 24TH IN SECOND PRACTICE:   "We are pretty far off right now. That can happen sometimes when you practice in the sun when it is warm, but have to set up for a race that is at night when it is cooler. We are not totally happy right now with the Los Lonely boys GM Goodwrench truck. Wally and I and the rest of the guys are going to have to sit down and figure out what we can do to pick up some time. Right now I am just happy that we are in the race and don't have to get in on time. This is going to be a tough race to make.

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 47 RAYSAT CHEVROLET KISS/KISS ARMY ALL STAR SILVERADO:  9TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 5TH IN SECOND PRACTICE:  "We are pretty happy with our Chevrolet Silverado.  It felt good in race trim but part of it here is trying to guess what the track is going to do tonight.  We paid a lot of attention to qualifying because we have to qualify into the field.  We want to make sure we make the race because of how competitive it is going to be getting in the field.  There are a lot of good trucks here."

TONY STEWART, NO. 92 GM GOODWRENCH/KHI SPONSOR APPRECIATION SILVERADO: 26TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 18TH IN SECOND PRACTICE:  "I think we are ok, I don't really know for sure though.  I think this is one of these deals where you have to be bad today to be good tonight.  Looking at the times, everyone is pretty close.  We did two qualifying runs which put us 18th but I think I can go a little quicker when we actually go out to qualify.  We definitely have to run a good lap though because if we make a mistake in qualifying with as many good trucks as there are here, we will be loading up and going home.  So it will be a hold-your-breathe and go deal."

KYLE BUSCH, NO. 15 ditech.com SILVERADO, 22ND IN FIRST PRACTICE; 26TH IN SECOND PRACTICE:  "Our ditch.com Silverado is a brand new truck that has never been tested so we are having to get it dialed in.  We are tight but Ritchie (Wauters) and the crew are working hard and I think by race time, we will have a good truck to work with tonight. I am just looking forward to the race."
