Kansas Speedway looks forward to hosting a sixth season of racing in 2006, speedway officials have announced.
The 2006 schedule includes the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series on July 1-2. The Fourth of July weekend at Kansas Speedway is fast becoming a motorsports tradition.
NASCAR's NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series culminate the season at Kansas Speedway on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2006.
"We are thrilled to host a sixth year of NASCAR and Indy Racing League events at Kansas Speedway," track President Jeff Boerger said. "If the last five seasons are any indication of the excitement and action that Kansas Speedway continually offers drivers and fans, 2006 will be an unbelievable year."
The complete 2006 season ticket schedule for Kansas Speedway includes admission to five races in 2006. The schedule is:
- ARCA RE/MAX Series - Saturday, July 1, 2006
- NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series - Saturday, July 1, 2006
- Indy Racing League IndyCar Series - Sunday, July 2, 2006
- NASCAR Busch Series - Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006
- NASCAR Nextel Cup Series - Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006
Next year's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event at Kansas Speedway will continue to be one of the "Chase Races." The event is the third race in NASCAR's Chase for the Championship, the 10-race stretch that will eventually determine the series champion.
The 2006 schedule comprises the track's RPM Ticket package. Tickets for the six races in 2006 are priced from $200 for the season, continuing the trend that Kansas Speedway is the best buy for a race fan's entertainment dollar, Boerger added.
Qualifying dates, still to be determined, will be sold separately from the RPM Ticket.
Kansas Speedway will mail ticket renewal forms for 2006 to current season ticket holders in the coming weeks. Once renewals for current ticket holders are processed, remaining seats, if any, will be sold to the general public.
Kansas Speedway has sold out every season for the last five seasons.
"We always encourage our guests and race fans to purchase tickets to Kansas Speedway early," he said. "Kansas Speedway is quickly becoming one of the hottest tickets in motorsports."
