Michael and Buffy Waltrip announced today that they would make a personal donation of $50,000 while their NASCAR Busch Series primary sponsor, Aaron's Sales & Lease Ownership, will donate $200,000 in support of Hurricane Katrina repercussions.

The Waltrip's also publicized starting a campaign pleading fans to donate.

"Numerous American lives have been affected by the devastation of hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi," Michael Waltrip stated. "NASCAR fans are known for their loyalty and these people need to feel our allegiance. I beg that each of you find a way to give.  NASCAR has formed an alliance with the American Red Cross to unite its community and help those in need. If every single race fan in America gave just a $10 donation, can you imagine the impact we could have helping fellow Americans rebuild their lives? Give. Please."
