Chevy Practice Notes: Nashville

JACK SPRAGUE, NO 16 CHEVY TRUCKS SILVERADO, 1ST IN FIRST PRACTICE; 1ST IN SECOND PRACTICE: "Our Chevy Trucks Silverado is pretty awesome, probably the best truck I have ever had here at Nashville. We got a little loose during our qualifying run but we still were fast so I feel good out being able to get a good solid starting position near the front of the field.  The truck was great in race trim too. We were able to try some things to see how the truck reacted which is always a good place to be in practice. I believe the weather we race in is going to be pretty similar to what it was when we practiced so the things we tried were actually done in what should be race conditions tomorrow.  I am looking forward to having a good race here at Nashville."

DENNIS SETZER, NO 46 CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 18TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 9TH IN SECOND PRACTICE: "We have a pretty good Silverado for tomorrow.  We are just a tick tight but I felt comfortable out there, better than I did when we were here testing a couple of weeks ago.  I don't really have a good guess as to where we will qualify, but if we can start in the first six or eight rows, that will give us strong enough track position to move toward the front.  One thing I can always count on with this Chevrolet Silverado team is the pit stops the guys will give me every time I am on pit road.  They have worked so hard all season to be the best crew on pit road and every race they so what I can't get on the track, they get it for me on our pit stops."

DAVID STARR, NO. 75 SPEARS MANUFACTURING SILVERADO, 16TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 16TH IN SECOND PRACTICE: "We were loose on our qualifying run and a little tight in our race trim but I know Dave McCarty (crew chief) and the guys will get us with a solid setup to start the race. We had such a good run here last year finishing second in our Chevy Silverado. I really want another shot at the guitar trophy.  I know we will race good, I just want to qualify close enough to the front so we can put ourselves in position to be racing for the win at the end."

RON HORNADAY, NO. 6 GM GOODWRENCH SILVERADO, 11TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 20TH IN SECOND PRACTICE: "For a while there we just could not get the setup right on the GM Goodwrench truck. We made so many changes trying to get what we needed. About half way through the second practice I think we finally got the truck set-up so it will be competitive. I knew this team would get us ready. I am still not sure how well we will qualify, but I am much happier now than I was about an hour ago."

KELLY SUTTON, NO. 02 TEAM COPAXONE SILVERADO, 31ST IN FIRST PRACTICE; 36th IN SECOND PRACTICE: "Our Chevy Silverado was a work in progress during practice. The first practice session started pretty good, and we decided to change a right rear spring and lower the track bar to help me on entry. The changes felt good at first, but as practice went along, it got harder and harder to turn through the center. Then, we started the second practice session loose into the turn, and it eventually got wicked loose and tough to handle. With the set-up we have, you'd think it wouldn't be so loose getting in. I have faith that Cal and the crew will find a solution tonight, so we'll be ready to qualify in the morning, and get this Chevy Silverado into the show here in Nashville."

MATT CRAFTON, NO. 88 MENARDS SILVERADO, 6TH IN FIRST PRACTICE; 15TH IN SECOND PRACTICE: "We were really good in race trim and really loose in qualifying trim so we are going to have to get the truck a little better for qualifying but not mess up our race setup.  We had a really good run at IRP last week, we want to keep this Menards Silverado team on a roll."
