Part of the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 Weekend

Four Chevrolet Team Silverado NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' trucks will feature special musical themed paint schemes as part of the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 weekend at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) on September 8-10, 2005.

Chevrolet has featured music artists on race cars and trucks in NASCAR's three biggest series since 2003 when they launched this unique marketing initiative that ties their two biggest advertising platforms (music and motorsports) together, The program has been activated for the most part at Richmond International Raceway where Chevrolet continues to have a large advertising presence in sponsorship entitlements and at-track promotions.

The No. 16 Chevy Trucks Silverado driven by three-time NCTS champion Jack Sprague will carry the image of country music superstar Trace Adkins. Nashville-based Adkins has enjoyed rising success since his 1996 debut album Dreamin' Out Loud, which included a number of hits including "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing" and "Every Light in the House." His fourth album, 2001's Chrome yielded top-10 hits including the title track as well as the single "I'm Tryin." Adkins is featured in Chevy's 2005 Country Music Calendar.

Blue County is paired with the No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado driven by current NCTS points leader Dennis Setzer. The duo consists of Aaron Benward and Scott Reeves. Signed to Curb Records as Blue County after meeting at a Nashville video shoot, the pair released their first hit single, "Good Little Girls" in 2004 followed by a self-titled album, also on Curb. Blue County appear in the 2005 and 2006 Chevy Country Music Calendars.

KISS, one of the most unique and successful rock groups in music history, will be pictured on the No. 47 Silverado to be driven by NASCAR NEXTEL Cup star Kevin Harvick. The band has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide since forming in 1972 and continues to break concert attendance and merchandise sales records. KISS played to sold-out houses throughout the U.S. on the 2004 "Rock the Nation" tour.

Ron Hornaday will drive his No. 6 GM Goodwrench Silverado with Los Lonely Boys pictured on the hood. The group hails from San Angelo, Texas and consists of brothers Henry, Jojo and Ringo Garza. Their unique style of Tex-Mex rock combines elements of blues, soul, country and Tejano. Their single "Heaven" climbed the charts to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group also won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 2005.

"I think it's cool that the trucks have been included in the Rock & Roll 400 with special paint schemes," said Sprague. "There is no doubt that the popularity of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has grown dramatically the last two seasons and it's a compliment to the success of our Chevy Truck teams to be a part of the music program."

Maria Rohrer, Chevrolet Truck advertising manager, agrees with Sprague's assessment of the NCTS and the value of the Chevrolet factory supported teams participating in the celebration at Richmond.

"We couldn't be more pleased with the success of Team Silverado," said Rohrer. "The professionalism of the teams that carry our Chevy and GM factory colors is evident in all of NASCAR racing. They have proven on and off the track their dedication to winning.

"Appealing to our customers through music related programs has played a significant roll in the promotion of Chevrolet products. By having such prominent artists from a variety of music genres on our trucks, we have the opportunity to showcase Chevy Trucks to a broader audience. I am excited to see the four trucks when they unload at Richmond. Our goal is to move the winning Silverado to the Chevy Racing Display right from Victory Lane Thursday night so all the fans can enjoy seeing it the remainder of the weekend."

"I think it is going to be cool to drive the No. 47 KISS Silverado at Richmond," said NASCAR NEXTEL Cup star driver Kevin Harvick. "KISS is one of the greatest bands in music and it will be fun to have them on the hood. The Truck race at Richmond is always exciting. I am look forward to the opportunity to drive such a bad looking truck and hopefully we will get to take the KISS Silverado to victory lane."

Chevrolet Team Silverado is the factory support program that debuted in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) at the beginning of the 2004 season to reinforce Chevrolet's commitment to Silverado teams and how technical advances on the track translate to data utilized in building the production Silverado. Through the program GM Racing has spearheaded a concept of "Team of Teams" that encourages all Chevy truck teams to share a variety of information between drivers, engineers, and crew chiefs in an effort to maximize on-track performance.

Completing the lineup of musical artist pairings with Chevrolet teams will be: NASCAR NEXTEL Cup No. 31 Big & Rich/Cingular Monte Carlo driven by Jeff Burton; No. 29 Gretchen Wilson/GM Goodwrench Monte Carlo driven by Kevin Harvick; No. 25 Green Day/GMAC Monte Carlo driven by Brian Vickers; No. 10 Nickelback/Valvoline Monte Carlo driven by Scott Riggs: No. 8 Three Doors Down/Budweiser Monte Carlo driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr.; No. 07 Drive By Truckers/Jack Daniel's Monte Carlo driven by Dave Blaney and NASCAR Busch Series No. 2 Chris Cagle/AC Delco Monte Carlo driven by Clint Bowyer.

The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend at RIR will kickoff with the NCTS race at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September 8, 2005. SPEED Channel, MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio will provide live coverage of the race.
