McCord, who works in the BHR fabrication shop, earned the ride as part of Dodge's ARCA driver development program. There are a record 48 teams entered for the 200-lap short track showdown on Saturday evening. Other names with some familiarity to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entered in the event include Billy Venturini, Ken Weaver, Brian Keselowski, Mike Harmon, Chad Blount, and David Ragan. Venturini, brother of Speed Channel pit reporter Wendy Venturini, is scheduled to attempt his second start since suffering a fractured vertebra in the season opener at Daytona in February. Venturini finished 32nd last week at Kentucky after getting swept into a late race crash. Weaver currently sits fourth in current ARCA Re/Max Series point standings on the strength of two top-5 and five top-10 finishes in his first 11 starts. Weaver plans on contending the remainder of the ARCA schedule before rejoining the NCTS to close out the season. Berlin Raceway is located just outside of Grand Rapids, Mich., and is owned by Johnny Benson, driver of the No. 23 Bill Davis Racing Toyota.
