06-04-2005 | TruckSeries.com Report
5th, DAVID REUTIMANN, Darrell Waltrip Motorsports, No. 17 NTN Bearings Tundra, "Jason Overstreet (crew chief) made some great calls in the pits -- and that's what this race came down to. We were a top-10 truck and if the yellows would have fell a little differently, we might have won -- and that's why you take a gamble. We just ran out of tires at the end. DW got on the radio and told me; 'We haven't really had a good year this year -- lets just go ahead and get a good finish.' We haven't had much to cheer about this season.' What happened on the final restart when you were leading the field? "Kyle Busch and I raced together at Nemco for a little while, and he's on 'kill' whenever he leaves pit road. He's not racing for points -- and I don't think he would have wrecked me - but I didn't want to take any chances and mess around and let everone else catch me. And, then Tony (Stewart) went by too - and I guess I'm not the first guy that Stewart's passed. We'll take this and we've got a good truck to take to Texas next week, and we'll see what we can get." 10th, MIKE SKINNER, Bill Davis Racing, No. 5 Toyota Tundra, "If you look at our finishes, we should probably be pleased with a top-10. But, this is probably one of our worst performances that we've had. My race team did an awesome job on pit road, but we just missed it somewhere today. I don't know if it was in the shock package or I don't know if something broke. I don't really know what it was. The Toyota motor ran awesome and nothing fell off. This is one of our worst performance this year -- and sad to say it's one of our better finishes."
