"Cystic Fibrosis Doesn't Stop Driver"
Chris Fowler was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the tender age of six months old - however the disease does not stop him from chasing his dream of competing in NASCAR some day. As part of his effort to gain awareness for CF, this Saturday, June 4th, Chris will appear at the book signing premier of "Enabled In Words", a collection of stories detailing the real lives, real victories of people with disabilities. The incredible story of Chris Fowler is one of the compelling stories included in this inspirational book.
"I am honored to have my story as a part of Enabled In Words," said Chris. "I enjoy being able to tell my story to others in hopes that it will not only inspire people with CF, but anyone with special challenges. Not only is this book an inspiration to people with special challenges but also to anyone who may be feeling down and needs a lift of inspiration. Again, it is a true honor that they wanted me to be a part of something so special."
Seventy-five other authors from around the world have contributed their words of inspiration to Enabled In Words - including people from all walks of life: from Ms. Wheelchair America 2005 to a United States Senator. This one-of-a-kind effort proves the cross-demographic bi-partisan nature of disabilities.
Chris Fowler has competed in the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Southern Series and has his sights set on competing at the NASCAR level in the Craftsman Truck Series. He looks forward to some valuable testing in the coming months with hopes of making his series debut by the end of the 2005 race season.
Fowler will be signing copies of the book this Saturday in Orange County Florida (Orlando) at the 7th Annual Family Café Conference to be held at the Caribe Royale Resort and Convention Center. The event is expected to be attended by nearly 8,000 Floridians and be highlighted by the Annual Governor's Summit on Disabilities hosted by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
The book signing in Orlando is part of a bi-coastal event that will see additional contributing authors also signing copies of the book in Orange County California (Anaheim) at the Abilities Expo Southern California Show.
"I am excited to be going down to Orlando for my first book signing," stated Fowler. "Not only will I get to do my first autograph session, but I get to meet some of the others who wrote great stories for this book. It's going to be a fun weekend and I can't wait to go and sign copies of the book and my driver autograph cards."
