Notes:
*This week's race truck for Dover International Speedway is Chassis No. 5-21. The No. 5 Bill Davis Racing team will take a brand-new truck to Dover.
*Double Duty
Mike Skinner will perform "double duty" this weekend at Dover International Speedway. On Friday, he will pilot the No. 5 Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. He will also be behind the wheel of the No. 23 AutoManiac Dodge Sunday in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Event. This will be his fourth Nextel Cup start of the 2005 season.
*Looking Back
Skinner led 85 of 200 laps in his only Craftsman Truck Series start at the "Monster Mile." He went a lap down late in the race but still battled back to finish in the top five.
Bill Davis Racing Quotes:
Mike Skinner on racing at Dover International Speedway:
"We have had some tough luck at Dover. We had the dominant truck and were leading the race when we had to make a green flag pit stop. As soon as we hit pit road, the caution came out and put us a lap down. We got our lap back, made it back to the front with a handful of laps left and finished in the fourth position. I got my first top-10 finish in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series at Dover and have been on the pole there in a Cup car. It has been a good race track for me. It is like a big Bristol, and I really like it.
"We are taking a truck that has never been raced. It is a two-year-old truck that none of my prior crew chiefs would ever let me race. They all had one excuse or another why we could not race it. We have taken it to three tests now as a backup truck, and I have talked them into pulling it out twice and let me run a lap or two. It has always been as fast, if not faster, than the primary truck. We are going to take it to Dover and see how it does."
Crew chief Jeff Hensley on racing at Dover International Speedway:
"I have had better luck at a casino than at Dover International Speedway. It is such a fast race track, and you can get caught up in someone else's mistake. I have the best crew and driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and hope that this week my luck changes. Skinner led a number of laps there last year, and I am hoping that this new truck will be as kind. We have had some strong runs this year but need to finish it off. I am hoping that this weekend will be the week we turn things around."
