Huffman, No. 12 Toyota Preview: Dover

As the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series revisits Dover International Speedway for the sixth time in the division's ten-year history, Robert Huffman returns for the second time in his career. Huffman's objective this Friday is to improve last seasons 11th-place finish in his No. 12 Toyota Tundra.

"We lucked out on that deal last year because a lot of guys got caught a lap down," said Huffman. "There was a long green flag run and we had pitted early. We kind of bypassed the cycle. We were off sequence with everybody and benefited."

Facing challenges at Dover, Huffman overcame an accident early in the race.

"We actually got into an accident right at the start, which messed up the front end pretty bad," said Huffman. "The guys worked on it to get the toe straightened out. We were decent after that. I also had some problems with my seat, which didn't suit me at all. I don't have a lot of experience at Dover and I don't think last year was a good way of getting experience there. I'm ready to go back this year because we are well prepared."

Having his fair share of misfortune this season, Huffman depends on Dover to propel him back into the top-20 in points.

"I think we'll run really well at Dover and have an opportunity to make up some ground," said Huffman, who is currently 22nd in the points standings. "We're bringing a truck that's new to Darrell Waltrip Motorsports. It's a truck that they had at Innovative Motorsports last year that Hank Parker Jr. ran at Las Vegas, Texas and Homestead. He led about 30 laps at Texas with it until he had a flat tire. I think it will be a good truck for us to use at Dover."

Before competing at Dover, Huffman stops by La Petite Academy in Greensboro (N.C.).

"We will be talking to young children that are in preschool and kindergarten," said Huffman. "Laerte Zatta with TRD has a son that attends school there. We're taking a show truck and a few other things for the kids to be able to see. Since there will be parents there, it's a great opportunity to talk about car safety."
