AAA to Partner with MIS with Multiltiple Programs in 2005

Michigan International Speedway and AAA Auto Club Group have announced a multi-year agreement, which encompasses multiple sponsorships at MIS. With the largest renovation project in track history currently under construction, AAA has signed an agreement to sponsor both the Motorsports Fan Plaza and the MIS Champions Club, both new to MIS in 2005, officials at both companies announced today.

The AAA Motorsports Fan Plaza includes a newly redesigned area for merchandise trailers, corporate displays and a plaza area where fans can relax and view the Walk of Champions, which will honor all of the great racing champions at MIS since it opened in 1968 to the present.

The MIS Champions Club presented by AAA consists of new outdoor club grandstand seating with an indoor entertainment area located above the existing center grandstand at the start/finish line. Champions Club members will enjoy many great amenities, including 20-inch wide outdoor seats with in-seat wait service, private restrooms and various food and bar stations within an air-conditioned dining area.

"This new and expanded partnership with AAA sponsoring the MIS Champions Club and Motorsports Fan Plaza are great examples of what a long-term relationship can generate for both MIS and AAA," said Mike Yost, Director of Motorsports Programs for AAA Auto Club Group. "Both of these new additions to MIS will be wonderful for fans and we are happy to be able to sponsor them."

"AAA has been one of our longest and most loyal supporters and we are excited to have them partner with us again this year," said MIS Director of Marketing Keith Karbo. "AAA helped us create the Guest Services program here at MIS and we have always had a strong relationship with them. It's only fitting that we work together on these projects that will give our fans an even better raceday experience."

In addition, AAA will continue to make its name known as the sponsor of MIS Guest Services. MIS Guest Services help provide fans with information regarding their visit to the track on any race weekend, as well as the famous fan trams and AAA's exceptional roadside assistance services. Guest Services also accommodates fans with disabilities to make their race weekend experience a great one.

"We started our partnership with Michigan International Speedway in 1997, when we jointly developed the Guest Services concept and we have been proud to sponsor it since that time," said Yost. "MIS Guest Services has become a model for other tracks around the country in the development of their Guest Services programs. It's a great program to sponsor."

This year, AAA Auto Club Group is also a sponsor for Roush Racing's #99 car driven by Carl Edwards for the two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races at MIS, the Batman Begins 400 on June 19 and the GFS Marketplace 400 on August 21. Lastly, after sponsoring the Pole Award during the August weekend in recent years, AAA will now sponsor the award for every race weekend in 2005.

"The AAA Pole Award has been an important part of our whole program. It began with just the August NEXTEL Cup race in 2003, and has been extended to all seven events each year for the term of our new agreement," said Yost. "Quite frankly, this has been one of the best partnerships we've ever had with an organization and every year we look forward to working with members of the MIS staff to make the important things happen for them as well as for ourselves."

"We were fortunate to ink a deal with Roush Racing to sponsor the #99 Carl Edwards car for both Michigan races this year. We couldn't hope for anything better than for Carl to come down to MIS in his AAA colors and win one or both of the Michigan NEXTEL Cup races."

Tickets are still available for all June 17-19 activities at MIS, with children 12 and under admitted free to Friday's ARCA RE/MAX HantzGroup 200 and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck's Paramount Health Insurance 200 on Saturday.  In addition, tickets are still available for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Batman Begins 400 on Sunday, June 19. All tickets can be purchased now by visiting www.MISpeedway.com, or by calling the MIS ticket hotline at 1-800-354-1010.
