Todd Kluever was the Raybestos® Rookie of the Race in the American Racing Wheels 200 at California Speedway. Kluever finished fourth, his best finish in two career Craftsman Truck Series starts. He is the first Raybestos® Rookie to score a top-five finish this season and owns the best finish by a freshman driver in the series this season.
A Raybestos® Rookie has now finished in the top-five five times at California Speedway. The others: Kenny Irwin (third in 1997), Kurt Busch (first in 2000), Jon Wood (third in 2001), and Brendan Gaughan (third in 2002). This is the best finish by a Raybestos Rookie this season in the Craftsman Truck Series.
Kluever leads the Raybestos® Rookie standings by eight points (28-20) over Sean Murphy entering the World Financial Group 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Raybestos® Rookie Kerry Earnhardt won the pole for the Florida Dodge Dealers 250, his first ever in the Craftsman Truck Series.
Earnhardt and Regan Smith are the only Raybestos® Rookies to lead at least one lap in the Craftsman Truck Series this season and both drivers accomplished the feat in the season opening Florida Dodge Dealers 250 at Daytona International Speedway. Smith has led three times for four laps (10.00 miles) while Earnhardt has held the top spot once for one lap (2.50 miles).
David Reutimann was the Raybestos® Rookie of the Race in the 2004 World Financial Group 200, claiming a third place finish. Reutimann owns the best finish by a Raybestos® Rookie at Atlanta and is the only first-year driver to lead at least one lap in the race. He led the event twice for eight laps.
Raybestos® Rookies David Reutimann and Robert Huffman made history one year ago at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Reutimann won the pole and Huffman grabbed the second starting spot, securing the first all-rookie front row in the history of the Craftsman Truck Series.
